Portrait Of A Zen Person

A Zen person
is a funny little bent-over guy
with a fanny pack
who smokes cigarettes,
or a tall, good-looking guy
with perfect posture,
or an old grandmother
who works in slow motion,
or a beat poet
in the twenty first century,
or a severe but kind lady
who loves flowers,
or a big fat man
who likes 
the letter H,
or a man who wants to help
and works so hard
that he ends up
in the hospital,
or anybody else
for that matter.

The Fifty Percent Way

The way
is like
fresh fruits
and vegetables
and the other way
is like 
coffee
and cigarettes,
so I have decided
on the fifty percent way
with some fresh fruits
and vegetables,
followed by
coffee and cigarettes,
and I feel
a little guilty
about not going
one hundred percent
in the way,
but I don't do it,
because of some
reason
that I probably 
don't understand 
completely,
so I still 
drink coffee
and smoke cigarettes,
and even have
one beer.
